Grief & Loss Resources
Grief can feel overwhelming, and sometimes it can help to know where else you can turn for information, understanding or additional support.
I have gathered a small collection of organisations, resources and practitioners whose work may be helpful when navigating grief, bereavement and loss.
These links are offered as a starting point rather than a recommendation or endorsement. Please take some time to explore what feels right and relevant for you.
Julia Samuel MBE is a psychotherapist and author who has spent much of her career supporting people through grief, bereavement and loss.
Through her writing, conversations, and therapeutic work, Julia explores the deeply personal nature of grief and the ways in which loss can affect our relationships, identity, and our experience of the world around us.
Her work offers compassionate and accessible insight into what it means to live with loss, recognising that grief does not follow a set path or timetable. Rather than something to simply “get over”, she explores how we can learn to carry our grief while continuing to live, love and find meaning in a life that may have been profoundly changed.
Her books include Grief Works, as well as podcasts, articles, and resources exploring grief, relationships, family, change, and the many losses we encounter throughout life.
Dr Kathryn Mannix has spent her career alongside people living with life-limiting illness, those approaching the end of life, and the families who love them.
Through her writing and conversations, Kathryn brings warmth, honesty and humanity to subjects we can often find difficult to talk about — dying, death, loss and the conversations that matter most.
Her work gently helps to make the process of dying less frightening and more understandable, encouraging us to approach the end of life with openness, compassion and tenderness.
Her books include With the End in Mind and Listen, alongside articles, talks and resources exploring dying and meaningful conversations.
Liz Gleeson is a psychotherapist and grief specialist whose work is dedicated to deepening our understanding of grief, loss and bereavement.
Through Shapes of Grief, Liz brings together personal experiences, therapeutic understanding and contemporary grief research, helping to normalise the many different ways we experience and live alongside loss.
Her work includes the Shapes of Grief podcast, where conversations explore bereavement, anticipatory grief, traumatic and sudden loss, non-death losses, and how our lives can be reshaped by the people and experiences we have lost.
Her compassionate approach reminds us that grief is not something simply to be “fixed” or overcome, but something that can be understood, expressed, and gradually accommodated within a changed life.
